permission based on issue type

hello everyone,

can i restrict access to JIRA by issue type? so for issue type = A, i have ABC access to edit it, but for issue type B, XYZ has access to read only

There are some 'hacks' to do this if you search, but not out of the box. The best you can do is use a security scheme, but users can still initially attempt to create an issue and then get denied. If a user can create in the project they can create. The cleanest way is to create a seperate project for that issue type for that group of users.

but what if the same user could assign ticket to two different individuals basis the issue type. we do not want the user to take the decision but code it

To assign an issue all they need is read access and be an assignable user.
