notification for issue

can anyone suggest how can i get notification when a issue is assigned to a specific group..!

lets suppose , if finance and developers are two groups in a servicedesk project, i need to get notified when an issue is assigned to those two groups.

We are using "functional user accounts" with a dedicated mail-adress for that. that mail address forwards everything to all team-members.

So If you assign an issue to the support-user a mail is generated to that support-mail-adress and that forwarded to everybody in the support team.

Maybe that could be a solution for you.

Hi Ram,

How do you assign an issue to a group? This is a functionality which is not available in JIRA by default (see JRASERVER-1397). There are a couple of workarounds but depending on which one you use, configuring the notification would be different.
