my team field is locked

my team field is locked and i am unable to edit or add to the field. When I try to create a new team it says unable to do so field is locked.

What do I do to unlock the field? I am in company managed template.

 

I need the field to populate my plans to show their usage.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The Teams field is a system field and is controlled by the new Teams option that you see on the main menu.

In order to add a Team you go to Teams > Create a team and follow the on-screen directions.

Welcome to community :)

When you install a Jira product or plugin, some fields that are needed by that product or plugin are created and locked.

Currently, there is no way for the users to unlock the custom field.

To view the custom field contexts and associated screens: 

  1. From the global navigation, select > Issues.
  1. Under FIELDS, select Custom fields.
  1. Find the locked custom field and select > View field information. Alternatively, you can select a field's screens or contexts link to view the locked field's details.
