licensing costs for "all-in" deployment to entire company?

Hey, Folks,

First, if there is a page / calculator that answers this question, please point me to it! :)

We have a small business and we're interested in using Jira, Jira Svc Mgmt, and Jira Work for essentially all company workflow management.

The licensing has me a bit confused, though:

We have about 4 developers, 7 IT folks, and 3 general biz people.

Since we have fewer than 5 devs and fewer than 5 biz folks, would those folks be no cost under Jira and Jira Work plans, respectively?

It's clear we'd need to pay for the SM users.

Also, for SM, would we be paying 4x$20 or 7x$20 (since up to 3 are free)?

A. If i'm reading correctly, the various Jira "products" are all basically Jira, with specific feature addons for each product, right? So an issue in Jira (dev) is viewable/interactable/usable by a person working in Jira Work Mgt, right?

I understand that the product specific features won't be usable by non-product users, but each "ticket" would be viewable/workable in terms of the features the users are licensed to?

B. If a developer also needs to access a specific feature in SM (say they're Level 2 support), would they need to pay the $20 / mo?

With those resources out of the way let’s look at your use case of 4 developers, 7 IT folks, and 3 general biz people.

I would suggest JSW for your 4 Dev and 7 biz. The reason being is that once you have JSW you have all features of JWM and some additional capabilities you likely will find useful for your biz folks. Now for you IT folks you may find you want JSM for them and you may find the also will benefit from JSW license. So all in all maybe you are looking at this…
