Received the following errors with this search attempt
changed BY "clintons" FROM Invoice TO Finalised
The operator 'changed' is not supported by the 'status' field.
Looks like the CHANGED operator is now broken on the cloud version, starting today.
We had filters using CHANGED and today they all of a sudden are broken.

Which version do you have? Cloud or self-hosted?
This works for me on my self-hosted Jira 7.3.6

Actually receive similar errors for all fields that do support the CHANGED operator:

Tried on another Jira instance I do have access to and that one is still working. Confusing.. ?
Working instance is on version: JIRA v1000.1210.0
Broken instance is on version: JIRA v1001.0.0-SNAPSHOT

Then, I would advice contacting Atlassian Support:

Maybe there is a general problem in jira cloud that was not reported yet.
