i need to have different notifiactions scheme based on the priority of the issues of the project. for ex: if the priority of a issue is defined as P0 then in adddition to the reporter assignee and watchers extra number of people should see the notifications

It's quite difficult to do this natively, most people use plugins that provide listeners or post-functions to capture the events, check the priority (or other data) and then send attitional emails on top of the standard notification schemes.

The closest I've got without coding was to have custom field for priority, which was actually a "group picker", and the notification scheme said "mail members of the group named in the field" for certain events. You can use the same trick to add "cc users" type fields as well (whether you use a group or user picker is down to your requirements)

Hi megha,

That's not possible , notification schemes are related to projects, not to individual issue types within a project. You could use a filter to show only these P0 issues and let the people who need to be warned subscribe to this filter.
