jira backup

hello,

we have about 500 projects in our server instance.

a team consisting of 26 projects is moving out of our instance.

how can i provide the full backup of 26 projects which includes attachments and comments .

Hi Gagan

I'd say there are two ways, both require some manual labour:

Option 1:

• Set up a new Jira Instance.
• Then follow Migrating projects to another JIRA instance

Option 2:

• Follow this guide: Migrating Jira applications to another server
• Leave the original Jira be.
• If on the same server: Change the port Jira runs on
• Give the new Jira a different Base-URL
• If needed change the SMTP-mail-server
• Delete all unwanted projects on the new Server so you stay with the 26 Projects.

As far I know there is no easy way to export and import multiple projects. :(
But maybe someone else has further ideas
