iDoneThis

Hi

Our team has been experimenting with iDonethis.com as a service.  At the end of each day you email the service a list of things you have done where projects are identified by #tags.   In the morning before our standup we all receive an email summarising the teams activities.

While we like the idonethis service, we would rather do this in way that is better integrated with JIRA.

Is there a way to set up JIRA to send you a daily summary of yesterdays activities first thing in the morning before your daily stand up?

And more importantly, is there a way of sending an email to JIRA with #tags in it that will break the email up by #tag and attribute those items to relevant tickets in JIRA?

Getting a daily summary (more or less) we just create a filter with this search

updated >= -24h ORDER BY project,key DESC

Then interested people subscribe to it, saying they want it run at 7am each morning, then when they come in they'll have a list of yesterday's activities in their inbox.

Getting JIRA to parse an incoming email with #tags - Hmmm, probably not out of the box.

Cheers

Because you are using cloud (ondemand) there is very little available to you.   I believe the best you got is activity streams and its filters through the activity stream dashboard gadget.   You can then generate an rss feed that you read and do what you want with.

We don't use the email route anymore since people started to use their JIRA dashboard more to keeping track of things.
