how to test new api

I'm asking this question as part of an analysis needed for a new system.

In this theoretical scenario we would be using a JIRA/Confluence onDemand instance. Our internal systems would be calling many different REST APIs on the onDemand instance, which I can see is currently running JIRA 6.4 REST API version.

I am aware that Atlassian is just about to release JIRA 7. I can see there is already a JIRA 7 API reference, but...

  1. How can we re-develop and test our integrations prior to release of the JIRA 7 API? Preferrably on our instance and with our data.
  2. Is there a JIRA 7 changelog that helps our developers to identify APIs requiring work prior to the release of the JIRA 7 API?
  3. Is there an API Browser or similar tool for onDemand instances?

Thank you.

There is no way to be sure especially if you are on the Cloud instance. You'll have to wait for Atlassian's announcement.

For Item 3, no.

I'm shocked. So basically in a nutshell: This means if I don't want any APIs to break I would need to go off the onDemand and go self-hosted. That's disappointing.
