how to release one version for multiple projects

Borris Tauber July 3, 2014

Hi,

We have just recently integrated bamboo into our workflows and it works just fine.

But we stuck at the next step, releasing a version from jira.

We have organized our tasks and bugs in multiple projects in jira. But all projects relate to one application and are included to one release.

I found the version sync plugin to propagate one version to multiple projects. But how can I create one release of this version with all the issues from different projects?

I would appreciate any ideas

You should research the concept of release trains which can give you alignment without locked versions, as having the same versions in many projects seems like you're fighting something natural.

In Bamboo you can set a series of plans to be chained together to build as one if you want to trigger them all from one version in JIRA
