how to highlight tickets in a list

Within a filtered list, is it possible to highlight important tickets?

Add the field that you are using to indicate "important" to the navigator columns. 

There's no "highlight" in the sense that a line is rendered differently, but you can see and sort by "important"

You can use Rainbow JIRA Plugin, it can colorize issues based on value of single select custom field, priority, status or resolution. Colorization works on navigator, issue list (with detail view), on view issue page or on dashboard lists.
