how to freeze the subject

Rafal May 19, 2022

Usually you may have kind of two different pages within Issue layout. Description fields on the left with Summary field on top and Context fields on the right. When scrolling down the left side the Summary field is also scrolled and disappear at the top - is it possible to freeze the field to not disappear, and to be visible all the time?

Hi @Rafal

There is a ticket about this which was closed with a Won't Fix resolution.

but there is also Tampermonkey script in comments - I was trying to use it, and maybe modify to have Summary also next to issue ID with link but Ive failed on this.

A really lame workaround idea:

  1. Add a "single line text" type custom field to your issues.
  2. Add an automation rule that copies summary to the custom field every time when it changes.
  3. Add the custom field to the right side (which remains in place even if you scroll down in the left side).

Bingo!

Really interesting workaround! Thanks for sharing. I wouldn't do that but it would be a good option for those who can't live without freezing the summary.
