how to create jira users for all persons in ldap?

Is there a way to mass create users by pulling from ldap. We could certainly email out instructions on how to self-register, but if we could pre-register people it would be even better.

Hi, can you explain what you are trying to achieve? Do you already have your users in LDAP? If so, you can simply get JIRA to use your LDAP directory as your user directory.

Harry is right - JIRA can already do this automatically if you configure it right. The documentation is here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Connecting+to+an+LDAP+Directory

Hi,

As describe on the other thread JIRA has the feature to set a "Default Group Membership" for LDAP users which basically will add any LDAP users into the default group when they login into JIRA successfully.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

We're already using "Default Group Membership", but we cannot figure out a method of having new users login other than creating the account for them
