how do you enable editing of security level by users in JIRA?

I have a project called Security for security related issues.

I have multiple levels of security for the issues in the project.

I can set the default security level.

i can see the security level in the issues.

But I can not edit the security level.

How do you enable editing of the security level field for issues by users in JIRA?

Check the project permissions. Only people with the "set security" permission will be able to change the security level.
