Gents,

To expand on Bruno's answer, the plugin he mentions is the Zephyr Connector Plugin. This by itself doesn't do much test management. Rather, it sends metrics from a JIRA instance (On-Demand or On-Prem) to a Zephyr Eneterprise Edition deployment where the information is displayed on the dashboards.

Zephyr offers three test management solutions, each of which integrate with or sit inside JIRA.

1) Zephyr for JIRA is an add-on to JIRA On-Premise deployments that adds a new issue type of Test and adds some testing functionality to JIRA.

2) Zephyr Enterprise Edition is a stand-alone test management solution that can integrate well with both JIRA On-Demand and JIRA On-Premise deployments. It integrates on both the requirement side and the defect side to give you full traceability. This takes you from user stories in JIRA imported into the Zephyr Requirement Management Module mapped to testcases in Zephyr connected to Testcase Executions mapped to defects or other issue types filed into JIRA from Zephyr.

Yes, that's a mouthful, but that's pretty much what it can offer you.

3) The Zephyr Community edition is ZEE's little brother (or sister for that matter) and offers a free version of the Zephyr Enterprise Edition with a few features that are off. ZCE's integration with JIRA is fully operational and not included in that feature reduction list.

We have a lot of information over on our website. http://getzephyr.com/ Hope to see you soon.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Leon, if you are running JIRA OnDemand, I believe the best way to manage test cases would be using the Zephyr Test Management Plugin. More info about it can be found on the following link:

Also, if this would be something that you are willing to do, please refer to the following doc to check how to connect Zephyr with JIRA OnDemand:

Hope it helps.

Cheers,
