Hi,
I was wondering if there's a way to hide issue status from specific group?
The purpose is to hide certain statuses that issue is currently on from external partners that have a user for JIRA..
Thanks,
Allie
No, you can't hide a status at all. Even if you did something clever to remove the field from all viewing when it's in a status, the partner would still note that there's an empty space where it should be, and hence deduce what's happening.
You could hide the issues that are in a status by setting a security level as the issue goes into it, and then clearing it on the way out though.
Nic; you said "You could hide the issues that are in a status by setting a security level as the issue goes into it, and then clearing it on the way out though."
We have a situation where internally we would like to prepare an issue before it get:s opened to our partner who would help address. So in inother words, we get the material together in Backlog, say translate it to English the open it to a group of users. That group of users does not need to see backlog and translate.
How would I achieve this? By putting a condition on the status?

No, you would need to update the security level of the issue as it moves through transitions. Post-functions would be the best place to do it.
