exclusion control in Jira

Hello,

In our previous issue tracking system, there is an exclusion control worked when user update an issue.
For example, multiple users start editing same issue at the same moment.
When the user try to submit his/her updates, he/she gets a warning message if someone else already updated the item in background.
The submission is stopped to avoid override the data.

It looks Jira does not give us any notice when the original data was changed.
Also, I cannot find last contents in activity log for my custom field based on the free text, which means the first update is gone.

Please correct me if my understanding is wrong, and could you please let me know if there is any solution for this?

Thanks,
hiro
