error during upgrade causes JIRA access problem on 7.0 startup

The aim:-

Server A JIRA 6.4.11 Oracle 11g

Server B JIRA 7.5 Oracle 12c

On Server B I created 6.4.11 and imported my Server A database on Oracle 12c.  Was able to log in OK.

On Server B I then tried to upgrade to 7.0 from the download zip.  All appears to go OK in the Upgrade Wizard, but when I try to launch it in the Browser, I get a JIRA Access Problem

Description - As error occurred performing the JIRA upgrade

Level - Error

Exception

Error occurred during export before upgrade: Error creating GenericValue (SQL Exception while getting value:  (Invalid column type: getBLOB not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CLongRawAccessor))

If necessary, auto-export can be disabled; see http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/latest/upgrade/autoexport.html

Found this which got over the initial hurdle.  Needed to alter both the propertydata and clusteredjob tables LONG RAW -> BLOB on columns.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/invalid-column-type-getblob-not-implemented-for-class-oracle-jdbc-driver-t4clongrawaccessor-during-backup-process-854131615.html

Rolled back to 6.4.11 as it had mucked up the installation, and ran the upgrade again.  This time achieved 7.0 OK

Hope this helps someone else.
