Hi,
as per Documentation is says "If you intend to use the Windows Installer or Linux Installer to install JIRA, there is no need to install and configure a separate JDK/JRE since these executable files will install and configure their own JRE to run JIRA."
After installation of JIRA im able to access it thru http:/localhost:8080, but running Configuration Tool config.bat error occurs java is not recognize.
no JDK/JRE installed after checking at control panel, no Java installation files in Program Files, do i need to install separate JRE just to run Configuration Tool?
Thanks in Advance.
eric
Yes, you need to install a JDK/JRE to be able to use the JIRA config tool. Also, you need to make sure you've set the environment variable JAVA_HOME so the Config Tool can load.
Hi,
well there is no need to install separate JRE just to run config tool, although JRE was installed you have to set env variable JAVA_HOME manually.

Sounds weird. But the installer installs the JRE in the JIRA installation folder itself.
