defaultAssignee not working anymore with Create [JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions]

Heiko Haas December 14, 2015

Hello,

we are using the 'JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions' add-on which worked fine in JIRA 6.4.12.

The configuration of the defaultAssignee in the properties followed that style:

TST -> Developers, JMWE -> Testers

Our *RoleName* contains a space, 'Project Management', but it was no problem and when a new issue was created, that issue was automatically assigned to the defaultAssignee.

We wanted to upgrade our JIRA instance to 7.0.4 and therefore paid the 4.x version.

Now, after the update of the add-on to 4.0.2 the setting of the defaultAssignee is not working anymore. The project lead, being also a part of the 'Project Management' role (with 6 users) will be set or 'Unassigned'. But not the defaultAssignee we added.

We upgraded to 7.0.4 but the defaultAssignee is not working anymore, although it once did without any obvious changes in the user or workflow configuration.

Is this a bug with 4.0.2? Did we miss a relevant step? Every user is an assignable user. And later in the workflow the defaultAssignee works still pretty fine.

Any help to set a defaultAssignee in JIRA 7.0.4 for a freshly created issue is musch appreciated!

In advance thanks for your help and time...

Atlassian changed the behavior of the Create transition in JIRA 7. You need to change the post-function's position relative to the "create the issue originally" post-function.

Hope this helps,

David
