copy jira project from test environment to production

Hello there,

I need to copy JIRA test project (version 6.2) to Production (Version 5.2.6).

How do copy the whole project including issues, workflows.

Please advise.

You'll need to do a lot of work to do this.

First, all the configuration will have to be done by hand - you'll need to recreate all the schemes and their content in the target JIRA.

Second, you'll need to export the data from 6.2.  Then downgrade it to 5.2 in a test system, then export it from test and you can use "project import" to import it from there.

There is nothing that handles a downgrade of JIRA data though, so you're really going to struggle.

Thanks Nic, Is there any plug-ins that I could use it to this task.

No If your versions were similar, then you can use the project configurator or project copy addons on the marketplace. But you've got a downgrade to do, adn there's nothing that can help you wiht that.

I can upgrade Production to version 6.2.

Do you have any instruction on how to use projector configurator plug-ins  and  copy the project .

Thanks a lot.

Hi Nic, I am trying to download the Project configurator plug -in since last week, and getting following error message " This site is down at the moment. Grab a snack — we'll be back before you know it. . Please advise.

Ouch. I think you'd need to tell Botron directly.
