can an automated reply be sent to the sender with the issue number when issue gets created in Jira using the mail handler functionality?

Hi,

We are using JIRA mail handler to create issues in our Project. I wanted to know whether there is any way out to send an automated reply to the sender of the mail along with the issue number of the issue generated by his/her mail.

It is just like an intimation to the sender that the mail he sent to the mailbox has been converted into a JIRA ticket.

Please let me know, if this is a possibility in Jira.

Regards,

Nikita

Yes, this is possible. Copy your current notification scheme and edit the copy. For the event "Issue Created" click on "Add" and add the "Reporter" to the event. Now assign the new scheme to your project and you are done.

Could you use https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/creating-a-notification-scheme-802592629.html and create a Notification Scheme with Event = Issue Created and Recipient = Reporter? This is what I want to try.

Hi,

not out of the box, but you can look for JETI: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.metainf.jira.plugin.emailissue/server/overview
