an we migrate data from an older version of JIRA to the current or newer version in Jira Cloud?

Is there possibility of migration from older version to new version in jira Cloud?

Please help me with this.

Hi Venkata,

A move to cloud is best done with a "lean and mean" version of your Jira instance. So I recommend cleaning out the old stuff prior to your move. 

As a side bonus, the footprint of your instance will be smaller. Better for the world, better for your wallet.

As far as I know there is only one version of Jira Cloud.

If the question is about Server (transitively, Data Center), then that depends on version.

 

See more on https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/jira-cloud-migration-assistant - JCMA is the de facto recommended tool to migrate to cloud in general. For that though you would need Jira at 7.6 at minimum, but of course the higher version you upgrade to the less troublesome the migration will be as a general rule of thumb.
