Zephyr availability if upgrade/increase the number of supported users for Jira but not for Zephyr

Halyna Hnativ April 10, 2013

We're going to upgrade our Jira instance from 50 to 100 supported users . However there is no need to upgrade the plugin "Zephyr for Jira" also.

As I know the supported number of users should be the same at Jira and Zephyr.

What might happen in case when only Jira is upgraded?

Will we still have the access to Zephyr data?

Will it be possible to view or export test cases / test cycles?

Or export of all data should be finished before upgrade of Jira?

What do you recommend to keep Zephyr data?

Thank you.

Hi Halyna,

The Zephyr license will become invalid. Your data will not be deleted, but you won't be able to see test-centric data: the test steps and all the execution results.

JIRA policy says that all JIRA add-ons need to have the same license tier as the JIRA instance they are installed on: http://www.atlassian.com/licensing/marketplace#licensingandpricing-1

In order to be able to keep and VIEW your Zephyr for JIRA testing data, you will need to upgrade your Zephyr for JIRA license as well to match your JIRA license tier.

Kind Regaeds,

Chris
