Would like to create issues in Jira from Google Chat

I saw there is a similar question about this topic from March, 2019 but wondering if perhaps there is an update to this.  My company would like to create and update Jira issues directly from Google chat.  Is there currently an integration for this functionality or is it possible via API to create it?  I am a software engineer so I am open to options that may involve some custom development to accomplish.

It's not exactly what you asked for but I think there may be browser extensions that allow you to create/edit issues.  Perhaps that'll be sufficient or be used as a base to extend to drop into the chat?

Thanks @Randy Ho , I that helps point me in the right direction. I haven't done anything with browser extension development, but it sounds more promising than anything else I have seen yet.
