Workflow based on Issue Type?

Is there a way to configure a Workflow path based on the Issue Type selected? I am using JIRA On Demand for an external support desk. I'd like to add an Issue Type called "Support Project" which would need to go down an approval path from the client instead of a general issue resolution. Example: If Issue Type == Support Project, then my linked Status would be Approve or Decline. If Issue type !+ Support Project, continue with my regular workflow. Please advise. Thank you!

Yes, this is possible. The Workflow Scheme of the project in question holds the configuration to map workflowd to issue types. More details on Workflows Schemes and how to configure them can be found here
