Workflow: Update values of other issues of different project

I'd like to "connect" workflows of 2 projects. We have a Project A as ServiceDesk and Project B as Software.

If a issue of Project A reach defined status I'd like to do one of following actions on different Project B:

  • Create Issue in Project B and link this to current Issue
  • Update Status (or other values) of linked Issue

Is this possible? I'm still looking for this at Jira.

Best regards

Floh

Hi @Florian Erfurth,

Not with the in-built features of JIRA that I know of. You would have to script it.

I have been able to connect two project within JIRA software by using Script Runners 'Clone an Issue and Link' built in script . With this feature, once an issue is transitioned to a specific status then it is Cloned into a different project. https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/builtin-scripts.html#_clones_an_issue_and_links

If you do not already have script runner there are several scripting plugins out there so may be able to find one that fits your needs and budget.

Thanks,

Avril
