Jira requires a Java application server to run. Apache is a web server, not an application server. As Harry says, that's what Tomcat is for. MySQL is one of the four databases that are supported.

A lot of people do run Jira behind Apache, for all sorts of reasons. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Integrating+JIRA+with+Apache for how to do that

Hi, no it requires Tomcat. It requires a Java application server. Currently Tomcat is the only one supported and known to work without issues.
