Why the email notifications from Jira is very delay?

We have encountered that every time we submit a request, it takes a long hours before we receive the email notifications. how can we fix this?

Hi @Mela 

Without knowing if you are using cloud or data center it is hard to say. For Cloud Atlassian handles the mail, but if you are on server or data center you would want to work with your companies email host provider. They maybe rate limiting it.
