Why is there no visual distinction between normal comments and internal comments?!

Because a comment is a comment.  Source is not important.

I'd raise it as a new feature, I think it would be useful

Your answer made me think otherwise. Where can I suggest features?

Yeah, I think my tone of voice failed to inform my writing on that one. I think it's an explanation of why it's not there, but not that it wouldn't be useful. Head over to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA/
