Hi everyone,
I am trying to validate my CSV import, and it is taking an unusually long time. The validation is only at 39% after beginning 1.5 hours ago. My CSV is not very big (approx 8 columns and 30 rows).
The fields I assigned include: Assignee, Labels, Category, Description, Summary, Issue Type, due date, and Reporter.
Is it normal to take this long? Is there something I can do to speed up the process? Thank you!
Hi Sara - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
No, that is definitely not right - it should not take that long.
I suspect it might be with either the Labels or Category. You might try it without one or both of those fields included and see what happens.
Hi John,
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, even with removing the Labels and Category fields, it's still not working (or taking an incredibly long time).
I've tried just importing one row. I've limited my fields to just summary, description, and due date. Still same problems....
It worked for me last week, so I'm left really confused as to why it's not working now. I don't have a premium account, so could I possibly have too many issues already uploaded? (I did only 100 last week to a different project).
I appreciate your help!

Yeah that doesn't make any sense at all. Are you doing this through the Settings > System > External System Import path?

I am not. I am doing it from my project > issues > import issues from CSV (which worked for me last week).

Try the path I mention above and see if that solves things.

Am I able to execute that path if I am not an admin? I'm not seeing access to this path in my project.

Sorry, no, you will have to be a Jira Admin.

Also, maybe try without the Validation. Map the fields in Jira to your CSV, but don't click the box for those fields that says to Map it. It still maps it, it just doesn't run it through the validator as such.

Hi @Sara Petrosian , it should not take that long unless something is off with your file. Try a sample file with a single row and see if it works. If it takes more than a minute then check your columns for anything odd.

Hi Jack,
Thanks for your speedy response. I tried out both of your suggestions and it's still taking an incredibly long time to load... Do you have any other suggestions? I'm really stumped by this.
Thanks!
