Why doesn't the date popup control work in JIRA Cloud?

Steve Swett June 11, 2015

It states "The JIRA calendar does not currently support your language."  I live in Michigan, U.S.  In the system settings my default language is "English (United States)".  That is also one of the installed languages.

This seems so fundamental to basic use.  Why is it broken?  Using Cloud version of JIRA.

How do I resolve?  Thanks.

Oddly, I have found the following "per user" work-around:

  1. Edit my profile.
  2. Change language from English (United States) to English (UK)
  3. Update
  4. Return to my profile and change language back to English (United States)
  5. Update

However, that little trick doesn't work if I try to do it at a system-wide level.

Another little piece of information is that some of our users that have been on JIRA longer (pre-cloud) don't have this problem.

Hi, Steve.

This sounds like the following bug:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-30789

You can vote for it and add yourself as a watcher. It doesn't seem to be a problem restricted to Cloud, though. Maybe your configuration in Cloud made this problem happen.

Thanks for sharing your workaround, by the way.

Kind regards,
