Why cant I save a filter that I own?

I created a filter the other day and added it to an issue stats widget on a dashboard. The Filter was set to Private for both read and edit. The dashboard was set to My Org View, Private edit.  It works, no problem with that part. 

I tried to rename the filter today to fix a typo and JIRA tells me that "This filter was created by Andrew Stanton. You can save a copy of this filter but you cannot modify the original."   which doesnt make sense since that's me. I've only ever had one account in this JIRA system and there is nobody else by that name working here. 

Is this just a crummy error message or is it serious?

I would just save it as and modify the filter in your dashboard.  Then open a ticket with atlassian if you are using the same account as this error should not happen.

Better to have your dashboard working than waiting for a solution.
