Upon creating tickets and assigning them to an epic, the epic shows correctly. When back to the Kanban board view the epics are not showing on the tickets anymore making identification harder.

Have you checked your view settings on the board to make sure you have Epics turned on?
You will find it on the right-hand side of the screen, when in Board view:
Yes, they are turned on. Are there any specific actions that are to be done on the epic tickets themselves to fix the issue?
