Why Jira and Confluence?

Rumceisz February 10, 2013

Hi All,

I need to hold a presentation to our executives why would like to apply Jira and Confluence.

I am currently an administrator of our Jira and Confluence, I know both app very well, I just need to get some hints, good lines why is this good decision. This is important because I don't know other issue trackers and wikis, so I cannot highlight that e.g. "Jira is the easiest to extend with plugins, etc..."

Can you please help?

Thanks in advance,
Rumi

Don'y forget the evaluator resources which gives you lots of information to use....

Other quick things I can think of:

  • Cheap cost per user compared to most other commercial products
  • Perpetual licences beyond initial purchase.
  • Lots of integration points to other systems
  • Access to source for commercial customers
  • With later releases of Jira, it's more of a workflow engine for all users rather than just a bug tracker for IT users.

i'd start reading the Feature Tour:

there are several other points that made our decision pretty easy.

- awesome support

- lots of helpful addons

and some more
