Hi there,
I want to start taking some courses on Atlassian University. But in the future I might not work the same place.
I want to hear which account I should use for starting on the courses. The work account I have, is a company email (@workemail.com) that is also tied to a lot of other applications and services.
Will my data be able to be moved to another account/email?
Should I just start using my personal account for taking Jira courses?
What about the data tied to my current work and also current Jira account, badges in community etc., can that data also be transferred to another account?
Kind regards
Fuji
Hi Fuji,
I would definitely suggest using a personal email account.
Hi @Fuji ,
In that case I would really recommend to use personal account as it will be useful in future also. I think Atlassian does support of merging account but at the time of merging one of your account history will be loss.
I am also using my personal email id for Atlassian Community, Atlassian Certification and more.

Thank you very much for your answer. Appriciate.
Can you use one account for Atlassian community and courses, and then one for Jira cloud/software? Are these platforms seperated?
What about the data tied to my current Jira account - also my company/work email and jira user. It has badges in community etc., can that data also be transferred to another account? Or is is not worth the hassle? I don't have a lot of data, badges etc., but do have a little.

@Fuji you aren't able to merge account activity (this article gives more details about them). I would suggest using the same email account for Community and University, and perhaps accessing them on a dedicated browser so it doesn't get mixed up with your product activity. We hope to have a better system in the future!

@Monique vdB Okay. I understand it as Community and University and Jira Software are tre separated platforms, were you technically can use 3 different emails for 3 different accounts? Is that correct?
Your point would be to keep Community and University on 1 email account (having same atlassian ID) one browser, and then Software (cloud) in another browser and on another account. Maybe also have different profile picture on each account.
Is that correct?

@Fuji assuming your software needs to be your work email address, yes that is what I would do. That means your community and university activity would always be portable and tied to your personal account. (And if you join an ACE chapter to attend in person or virtual events in your area, that personal account would be what I would use there too.)
