Hi all,
I need to put a password policy in place. Nothing fancy, but for now it's a free for all. I looked at the Jira 7.1 Server Documentation:
but those options don't exist.
Mine:
Not under the cog dropdown menu
Not under
Not under User Management
And yes, before anyone asks, I did [g+g+"password"] and got nothing.
So where is this elusive setting!?
It's probably also worth noting that I have confluence running on a separate server, and it is linked to Jira and user Jira for users, groups, and authentication. Not sure if this would effect Administrative options.
I'm really at a loss here, someone please help.
Yeah, that document is wrong
Try Admin -> System -> Password Policy
However, as it doesn't pop up in the search, it may be disabled in your system.
Yeah, it's missing from the "Security" subsection. Any idea how to enable it?

As far as I can remember, you either have to turn off the module that provides it in the system plugins, or implement a user directory that it can't control. Are you using the internal directory, or something else?
