When cloning an issue to a different project, can I copy the comments as well

When cloning an issue to a different project,by default the comments are not copied to the new issue

Is there any way of copying all the comments to the new cloned issue?

this does not seem to be possible out of the box. However there are some plugins that come to rescue:

• https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/org.swift.jira.clone-plus: it clones comments but commercial.
• ScriptRunner: you can do a lots of things with running scripts. Cloning issues with comments may be possible too by extending the clone script.
• https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/clone.issue.with.selected.subtasks: free and open source. Should be possible to extend with comments.

Yes You can use CommentManager Class
