There are mixed and confusing information online on what is the proper way to install JIRA Service Desk to an existent JIRA Server.
Some documentation say to install it as a separate instance others to install it as a plugin.
It looks like if you install as separate instance you lose some functionalities.
Please advice?
The docs tell you "how", not "why".
If you want the tight integration, and all your users collaborating in one place, then install them together.
If you want silos or data segregation, install them separately.
