What is the safest method to Add step to workflow?

I need to insert a step like Accepted between Open and In Progress.

I can either create new initial step named NEW and create a transition Accept to Open

Or I can insert a new step between Open and In Progress and fix all transitions.

What is the easiest and safest way?

Adding new step on create was much easier and safer: add 1 step and 1 transition vs. fixing 7 or more transitions

Hi Alexey,

I think that both will be equally safe. However, I personally perfer the second way. Please make sure that you do your changes on a copy of the active workflow. Do not edit your default workflow, it is always safer to copy and then do the editting and after everything is done, then activate your copy.
