What is the experience for current users when we enable password policy?

We are looking to enable a password policy in our JIRA cloud instance. We already have a large number of users in the system and we need to understand what there experience is going to be when they login after we enable the policy in case we need to do any communications.

We are probably going to enable the "Good" or "Strong" policy with a 90 day expiration.

Will everyone be forced to change their password to meet the new requirements or only the people that their current password doesn't meet the requirements? Will this impact our HipChat instance as well?

Hi Justin, No it will not affect your "old" users, only the new ones. They will only be asked to reset their passwords if you hit the button "Reset Passwords now".

It also won't affect your HipChat instance.
