What is the best way to manage multiple brands within 1 board?

Jonas Wilbert September 26, 2019

Hey guys,

My team is managing multiple brands with multiple projects within 1 Jira board.

E.g. we have:

- Brand 1: Website, SEO, Facebook Ads, Google Ads ...

- Brand 2: Website, SEO, Facebook Ads, Google Ads ...

...

We currently use Epics to differentiate and filter for brands. This doesn't seem the be the most efficient way.

What is the best way to make use of Epics, Components and Labels in your mind?

Thank you.

Hi @Jonas Wilbert

Epics, Components and Labels all work similarly to be able to group issues and display subsets of issues. We typically don't make much use of Epics, but use Components and Labels fairly extensively.

I think it depends on your use case and what you're hoping to achieve - this may dictate which of these is preferable for you.

As an aside, they will all depend on someone adding the "tag" to each issue - it may be useful for someone to periodically check that there aren't any issues that don't have a "tag".

Just an opinion as I don’t really know how you company works but maybe this...

Brands = projects

components = website, SEO, ads.....

another thought...

Brands = new custom field and use for swimlanes

components = website, SEO, ads.....
