What information is stored by Atlassian OnDemand from Google Apps logins

Scott Hogan June 26, 2014

Hi,

I'm looking to install he Google Apps plugin to provide acces to our JIRA OnDemand instance across our whole organisation. However we have security concerns about our users sharing their Google credentials and I've been asked what data OnDemand stores when doing this.

Can anyone advise me? I've read all the documentation I can find, but it doesn't speak to that specific question.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

When you integrate Google Apps with OnDemand, it's basically syncing the user's first and last name and providing an auth token for login using OAuth, based on the username. The password data isn't sent; you actually create a separate local password within JIRA so that you can still login directly to the OnDemand instance.
