What do bar graphs mean in Team Velocity gadget

What does Initially and Finally committed mean? I think Initially is when the sprint starts but where does Finally committed come from?

Hi Jharms,

I think you must be using the 'Agile Velocity Chart Gadget' from Broken Build

Based on that info, this is what I think they mean:

Initial Commitment

"How much work was at the beginning of a sprint (right before its start)"

So that means the total work estimated (hours, story points or count depending on your settings) across all the issues/tasks/stories in the sprint just before it started.

Final Commitment

"How much work was at the end of a sprint (right before its completion)"

"Your estimates may have changed during the sprint, new stories added or existing stories removed. Final commitment shows the most up-to-date total commitment."

So that means the total work estimated across all the issues/tasks/stories in the sprint when it ends.

If Final Commitment is different from Initial Commitment, it means that items were added or removed or estimates where changed during the sprint.
