JIRA Version: 5.0.6

Groovy Runner Version: 2.0.7

I ran the copy project functionality built into Groovy Runner when I noticed that upon copy, it doesn't maintain the relationship between parent issues and its children tasks. I doubt this is the expected behavior so I'm concerned that something might be broken. A few other thoughts:

  • I have a custom listener, but I turned it off before the copy to ensure it wasn't the problem. Copied below are the log entries for that run. Could it be something here that caused the problem?
  • Could it be something with incompatibilities between the version of JIRA and Groovy Runner?
  • Is there any way to turn on additional logging to help trace the problem?
  • Could it be something to do with our issue type scheme? we have only feature and sub-task as allowable types.

I had a customer asking for the same in the past. See https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/browse/GRV-120

We ended up modifying the scripts for him.

The errors above are not related to the scriptrunner plugin though. Those are customfields provided by some other plugins which seems uninstalled now.

I wouldn't say it is a bug in the plugin because Jamie only intended to do the copy, without links :)

The changes I did was not to do with subtasks but for actual links with issues in different projects. And I cannot share it, unfortunately, as it is a property of the company. Feel free to contact sales@go2group.com if you are interested.

I feel bad to disappoint you. Maybe I can get some real answer next time! (Yeah, I do that sometimes).

your answer above says you modified it for him, which leads me to assume there's a fix, but the link you gave me to GRV-120 shows as opened and unresolved. i gave you a hard time yesterday after answering several of my questions in a row with bad news, jobin. you're not going to do the same here, are you? ;)
