Webhooks All Erroring with 500 : Internal Server Error on Atlassian Cloud

Philippe Mesritz February 3, 2015

I've tried four different webhooks ranging from Requestb.in to Freshdesk to Slack and all of them have the same error.

Error submitting WebHook data. Please retry later.<p>Status: 500 : Internal Server Error

This is on Atlassian Cloud within JIRA.  Does anyone have suggestions for me or know what might be causing this?

For anyone seeing this … support was able to determine a NullPointerException occurred in the logs as soon as the main Webhook page loaded.

To remedy this, support needed to manually remove the hook from the database.

The bug is fixed in the 6.4.3 JIRA version.

Meanwhile the developers have released a new jira webhooks plugin version, so it can be installed to remedy the issue right away. It is available in our public maven repo: https://maven.atlassian.com/content/repositories/atlassian-public/com/atlassian/jira/plugins/webhooks/jira-webhooks-plugin/1.7.3/jira-webhooks-plugin-1.7.3.jar

Please do not upload this .jar file. You have to drop it into the atlassian-bundled-plugins folder and restart JIRA.
