Virus Detection Functionality

Service Desk - John January 10, 2017

What virus scanning functionality does JIRA Service Desk Cloud come with?  Does it detect problems with attachments, hyperlinks (e.g. .exe file), etc.

We do not have publicly reporting virus protection in cloud yet.

We do have internal virus protection and it will stop the rendering of previews of affected files.

You would still require end users to have local virus protection if they download affected attachments.

Thank you for this post and the reply.

We have just picked up a malicious Trojan file through a migration that we are busy with. We would like to ensure the attachments and data is clean before entering the Jira / Confluence system.

Any idea or feedback on this?

A few more questions, for clarity:

  • Does JIRA remove any files that are detected to have a virus?
  • How do they label / identify a virus infected file?
  • What would an infected file look like? Does an image appear of the service ticket screen?
  • What 3rd party solution / add-on could be incorporated (or is known to be used by other customers) for Cloud or Service environments to provide additional security?
