Viewing Issues Grouped by Epic / Parent Task

kevin_gregory December 18, 2017

In the various locations that JIRA lists issues (e.g. viewing the issues in a Release), the issues are listed in a "flat" manner, regardless of the issue type.  Epics, issues belonging to an epic, and parent / sub-task issues are all displayed as the same "level", and are intermixed.  It is not possible to see these relationships.

Is there any feature of JIRA, or recommended plugin, that offers the ability to see their relationships?  Ideally, this would alter the existing listing views in JIRA (i.e. on the Release listing page) rather than providing separate functionality elsewhere.

Thank you for your response.  We have looked into Structure, and will take a look at the other two you suggested.

Structure does provide the desired grouping functionality (and much more).  However it does that by offering a separate area of functionality, not by improving the out-of-the-box listings (e.g. issues in Release).  Unfortunately, this leaves those areas to be of minimal value, and specific training is needed for users to have access to similar information (e.g. develop a specific Structure query to cover a release).
