This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Managing versions

In version 7 of JIRA, version configuraiton options do not appear for Kanban boards - how do I create one?

A user with project administration rights can go into the project administration settings and manage versions/components etc from within there. Look for the Project Administration at the bottom of the left sidebar.

In the project administration sidebar you will now find a link for versions is present in which you can manage the versions on your project.

An alternative (workaround) approach is to create a Scrum board of your project as well as the Kanban board and use that for allocating issues to Versions/Epics by using drag and drop.

I hope this helps.
