Using versions from JIRA in JIRA Service Desk

I would like to know if there is a way to use the release versions I have in JIRA can be shared and used with JIRA Service Desk. I don't want to have to duplicate versions.

Versions in Jira are restricted to a per project basis.  But I understand the desire to unify versions between projects.   This kind of request has been asked before here on community.  I would recommend checking out this thread:  https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/How-do-you-share-versions-among-multiple-projects-in-Jira/qaq-p/200779

There are a couple of different possible solutions mentioned there in regards to different 3rd party addons that could be used to synchronize version names between projects.
